Technology Improves Eye Care
Technology is constantly changing and improving. This is especially true in the field of eye care, where new equipment is being developed all the time to help doctors diagnose and treat eye diseases.

Auto-refractor
Another important piece of equipment in our office is an auto-refractor. The auto-refractor device is used by optometrists to measure the size and curvature of a patient’s cornea. It uses light waves to measure the refraction of light, which is an indication of how well the eye can focus on objects. The device also measures pupil size and shape.
DRS Retinal Camera
One of the most important pieces of equipment in our office is the digital imaging system. This system allows optometrists to take detailed pictures of the inside of the eye, including the retina, optic nerve, and blood vessels. These images can be used to document any abnormalities, monitor changes over time, and diagnose diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.

Humphrey Visual Field Machine
The Humphrey Visual Field machine is a crucial tool in our office for assessing peripheral vision. It helps diagnose and monitor eye diseases like glaucoma by measuring visual field sensitivity. This technology aids in treatment planning and disease monitoring, ensuring optimal vision care.
Optical Coherence Tomography
OCT is a non-invasive imaging technique that captures detailed, cross-sectional images of the eye. It helps diagnose and monitor eye conditions like glaucoma and macular degeneration by providing precise visualization of the retina and optic nerve. OCT has revolutionized eye care with its fast, accurate, and non-invasive approach, facilitating early detection and improved treatment outcomes.

The Highest Quality of Care
All of the patient records at Coppedge Eyecare are securely stored in electronic medical records (EMR). This allows our optometrists to easily access patient information, and it also allows patients to view their own records through a secure patient portal.
By using advanced technology, our optometrists can provide patients with the highest quality of care.
