Coppedge Eyecare
Coppedge Eyecare is a family-owned and operated optometry practice that has been serving the Brooksville community for over 65 years. Three consecutive generations of the Coppedge family have been optometrists in the practice. Dr. John H. Coppedge, Sr. first began working at the practice in 1955, and he retired in 1981; Dr. John H. Coppedge, Jr. practiced from 1969 to 2015; Dr. Casey Coppedge has practiced from 2007 to the present. The current optometrists are Dr. John Casey Coppedge and Dr. Amanda Coppedge. They, along with the team, are committed to providing their patients with the highest quality eye care and vision services.

Dr. John Casey Coppedge
Optometrist
Dr. John Casey Coppedge is a graduate of Hernando High School, graduating in 1992. He graduated from Florida State University, continued on to the University of Southern California earning his Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. He then graduated from Nova Southeastern School of Optometry in 2007. After graduation, he joined his father in the practice of optometry in Brooksville, continuing the legacy that began with his grandfather so many years before. Dr. Coppedge and his wife have two children, Carina and Ryan.
Dr. Amanda Coppedge
Optometrist
Dr. Amanda Coppedge graduated from UCLA with a major in neuroscience and then earned her optometry degree at Nova Southeastern School of Optometry. After graduating from optometry school, she began working for an ophthalmology practice in Lecanto where she worked along side cornea specialists, glaucoma specialists, and cataract surgeons for 11 years. She has extensive experience co-managing patients with corneal diseases, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and post-operative procedures.
Kim Trout Bechtelheimer
Licenced Optician & Optical Manager
Kim Trout Bechtelheimer was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and moved to Brooksville in 1973. She graduated from Hernando High School in 1977. In 1978, she joined the staff of Coppedge, as a receptionist. She eventually worked in the optical side and learned all aspects of optical care. In 1987, she became a licensed optician; today she brings over 40 years of experience to the business. She is a member of First United Methodist Church of Brooksville, and has two daughters and two granddaughters.
Jessica Simonds
Certified Optician
Jessica Simonds graduated from Hernando High School in 2006 and came to work with us in 2018. She has been with her husband since 2003 and they have two boys. The family loves being outdoors, especially water activities. Jessica is an apprenticed optician, working towards her optician license.
Ragan Parker
Optician Apprentice
Ragan Parker is a proud Brooksville native, who resides here with her husband and two children. Ragan joined our optical department in January 2021. She is an apprenticed optician and is currently working towards obtaining her optician license. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, kayaking and going to concerts.
Jo Ann Searcy
Office Manager
Jo Ann Searcy was born in Gainesville, Florida, but is really considered a Brooksville native. She is a 1974 graduate of Hernando High School. She joined Coppedge Eyecare in 1983 as an optometric assistant and became a Certified Optometric Assistant in 1987. She has been the Office Manager since 2010.
Katie Feliciano
Receptionist
Katie Feliciano is originally from Long Island, NY and moved to Florida in 2000. She married her high school classmate in 2014. She is a self-taught artist and loves to draw on her free time. She has two pets: a 2 year old German Shepard and a 6 month old tabby kitten. She has been employed at Coppedge Eyecare since 2018.
Kristal Miller
Optometric Assistant
Kristal Miller was born and raised in Eau Claire, WI. After marrying her high school sweetheart, who was is the Navy, she joined him and they lived in Jacksonville and San Diego. In 2018, with their three daughters married and gone from the nest, they moved back to Florida and settled in the Brooksville area. She enjoys camping, 4 wheeling, kayaking, outdoor activities, and spending time with her three daughters and 2 grandsons.
Lauren Palma
Optometric Assistant
Lauren Palma has lived in Spring Hill, FL her whole life. She graduated from Entirety K-12. She loves all things outdoors, like trail rides and camping, and of course, hanging out with her cats.
Rainee Hornbeek
Optometric Assistant
Rainee Hornbeek moved from Bristol, TN to Wesley Chapel in 2014. She graduated from Wesley Chapel High School in 2018. She loves spending time with her kitten, Cheddar, and her boyfriend, Jacob. She loves Halloween, reading, and admiring impressionism artworks.
Luke Dumala
Optical Technician
Luke Dumala has been with Coppedge Eyecare since 2005 in the optical area. He became a full-time firefighter/paramedic in 2013, but continues to work with us during his “off time”. Luke is married to Tiffany and has three children. He enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, and watching the Buccaneers win on Sundays.
